lbl Posted August 13, 2008 Report Posted August 13, 2008 In 1.8 it's suddenly not possible to RightClick to Update Tracker, when the Minimum Announce Interval problem occurs, and why is the Minimum Announce Interval problem STILL there, it should have been gone with 1.8, or why 1.8 at all ?!It seem that if one waits for a few minutes after the Minimum-error first appears, THEN it's possible to rightclick to update, but before that, one has to Stop and Start the torrent to get it working again. Also, it's absolutely ANNOYING to have to switch Tab to see WHAT error it is, WHY it has turned RED suddenly, so get the Trackers name back on the General Tab!Thanx!
DreadWingKnight Posted August 13, 2008 Report Posted August 13, 2008 Stop trying to DoS the tracker. If you're getting minimum announce interval errors, check with the tracker.
Firon Posted August 13, 2008 Report Posted August 13, 2008 This isn't a bug. The minimum update interval is specified by the tracker (see the trackers tab and enable the column if necessary). µTorrent now respects this setting, as it always should've.
lbl Posted August 13, 2008 Author Report Posted August 13, 2008 Ok, i can see there are two different columns, Interval (shows 30 min) and Min Interval (shows 30 sec), but WHERE then, do i SET so that the tracker gets updated within the correct interval, and i don't get the annoying minimum announce any more ??
DreadWingKnight Posted August 13, 2008 Report Posted August 13, 2008 YOU don't set the intervals, the tracker does.uTorrent updates on the tracker announce interval automatically. There is NO reason to announce more often than that.
Firon Posted August 13, 2008 Report Posted August 13, 2008 Assuming you don't do manual updates, it'll update every 30 mins. If the tracker is giving you an error about too many updates, then they have a serious setup issue on their tracker.
Switeck Posted August 13, 2008 Report Posted August 13, 2008 A problem I've heard of with tracker updates was with an overloaded tracker whose clock was falling behind. uTorrent would update 30 minutes according to its clock, but the tracker saw the time as 29 minutes 50 seconds.
dogbert_2001 Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 The problem is when the tracker is OFFLINE. You are forced to wait the interval in order to try again just to connect to the tracker. THAT is a problem. The option should only lock after a SUCCESSFUL announce.
Firon Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 it uses a much smaller interval when the tracker is offline. Well, the automatic update does, at least.
Switeck Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 The problem is when the tracker is OFFLINE. ...The option should only lock after a SUCCESSFUL announce.I agree.
