Hi people, i am new to utorrent and using it to download torrents. I read the guide and change the settings as required. But why is my download speed still averaging 8kb/s. My results at speed test.net is 23464kb/s and upload speed is 226kb/s. I have test it with utorrent closed. And i selected 256kb/s for the speed guide. Is it problem of slow downloading speed a problem?

Thanks a Lot :)

Hi, thanks for your reply. My ISP is starhub. If i download the openoffice torrent, the slackware must remove or let it continue?

You probably are on an ISP that throttles file-sharing and international internet traffic. :(

This may remotely help:

http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Avoid_traffic_shaping#Escalation_of_the_crypto_settings

Azureus encryption level 0 is equivalent to µTorrent's "Disable" for outgoing encryption with "Allow legacy incoming connections" checked

Azureus encryption level 1 has no equivalent in µTorrent (weak encryption anyway -- it's only header encryption)

Azureus encryption level 2 is equivalent to µTorrent's "Enable" for outgoing encryption with "Allow legacy incoming connections" checked

Azureus encryption level 3 is equivalent to µTorrent's "Enable" for outgoing encryption with "Allow legacy incoming connections" unchecked

Azureus encryption level 4 is equivalent to µTorrent's "Forced" for outgoing encryption with "Allow legacy incoming connections" unchecked

Azureus encryption level 5 doesn't really have an equivalent in µTorrent.

Hi Firon, my test torrent is running at 100+kb/s but my other torrents are not even close to 10kb/s. Is there something wrong with it? And Switeck, i am currently using Azureus encryption level 2

You could try lowering your upload cap a few kb, though your ISP throttles BT heavily, so you can probably never get amazing results from BitTorrent.

Try setting outgoing connections to FORCED encryption.

Disable DHT, UPnP, Local Peer Discovery (LPD), and Resolve IPs.

Should lower your load slightly if nothing else so you can "spend" more bandwidth on actually downloading and uploading torrents.
