Grasshopper Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 Something like this:right click on torrent from the list -> properties -> there is download location option/tab and you can change it if the torrent is stopped. Then uTorrent acts as if you are starting new download in that location, but saves ratio etc. I have one HDD dedicated for storage and from time to time I move some downloads from the main download directory there. It's not a problem to move the files manually, but I need to delete and reload the torrent to change the download location as I want to keep on seeding it.
Firon Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 You already can, and have been able to do so for ages.Right click -> Advanced -> set download location.
Grasshopper Posted August 14, 2008 Author Report Posted August 14, 2008 Well, maybe there is problem with my installation, but when I Right click -> Advanced there is only Web seed and Run program options.
Firon Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 NOT in the properties. Right click the torrent in the listview.
Grasshopper Posted August 14, 2008 Author Report Posted August 14, 2008 I feel so stupid now. Thanks for the help though
Switeck Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 Don't sweat it.Even the best interface can have overlooked features.
Serge Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 The option "set download location" is greyed out in all of my torrents. So it can't be changed. Doesn't matter if the torrents point at seeded files, incomplete downloads, or haven't downloaded any byte yet.Doesn't matter if under Preferences > Directories, I specify locations, or not.. Anyone?..
thelittlefire Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 Torrents must be stopped to "Set Download Location".Preferences are not changed for EXISTING torrents. You need to edit it through the GUI or outside uTorrent through something like http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=31306 to manually change the paths in resume.dat
Serge Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 Fantastic straight short complete answer, LittleFire. I love that, apart from the solution. Thanks.
