Mquis Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 Hello!I don't have a very bad internet. I download most of my files in 1,5-1,6 mb/s. And that is 99,9% of the time.I have a 24/1 Adsl internet and get 15/0,8 when I test it over internet.I mostly download my stuff from private websites over the internet (the demand login etc). Now I wonder why my download ALWAYS is on a steady 1,6 mb/s. Is there some type of configure that has to be made?Right now I am not sitting on a router.Thank you!
Firon Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 'Cause that's probably the practical maximum you're gonna get due to overhead and so on.
Switeck Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 How many times faster than your upload is that?
Mquis Posted August 15, 2008 Author Report Posted August 15, 2008 Around 12-16 times faster than my upload. My I cant get my upload fast either :/
Switeck Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 Can uTorrent maintain an upload speed of at least 100 KiloBYTES/second?(It should if your max upload is 1 megabit/second.)
Mquis Posted August 16, 2008 Author Report Posted August 16, 2008 So how should I work out this problem?
Firon Posted August 16, 2008 Report Posted August 16, 2008 Get a faster connection. You're basically near the connection limits (taking in overhead from BT/TCP).
Mquis Posted August 16, 2008 Author Report Posted August 16, 2008 But faster connection for me would be digging youre own cable which isn't really cheap. So there is no other way?
PaCoSy Posted August 16, 2008 Report Posted August 16, 2008 This is very confusing .. Administrator say s 300kb/s is ok But this guy download's most of he's files in 1,5-1,6 mb/s and i have a better cannection ... Cable 10mb/s down and 900kbt/s I am not sitting on a router also .. Comme on .... Whatt the hell ... I'm here 4 hr's tring to find out what is the best config. for my cable extreme Is that so hard to ask ..... I was thinking of opaning a server but seem not to reliable as a programe.... Dam !!
thelittlefire Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 Converting Mbit to MByte/sec means divide by 8. Getting 1.5MByte/sec is the same as 12 Mbit/sec, which is close to maximum. Considering the 12:1 ratio on upload, I'd be ELATED if I could download that much faster than upload on my line.To answer your question, in uTorrent, Ctrl-G and select the CLOSEST WITHOUT GOING OVER your connection's rated UPLOAD speed.
