Paul-ish
I am a member on a private bit torrent tracker. Whenever the tracker goes down and I am still connected to peers, I notice that the speed of my uploads shoots up on that tracker. I think what is happening is that when the tracker goes down people take of the download limits off their torrents so that they can download files without it counting against their ratio on the tracker. I was wondering if it would be possible to add a feature that would stop all activity on select torrents if the tracker goes down so that my bandwidth is not leeched by people who don't want to play fair. thelittlefire
... Your statistics are still counted (or should be unless the tracker is stupid) while the tracker is online for the next announce.I'm not sure whether if private=1, and the tracker goes offline, whether the torrent should be toggle-able at all :/ I do understand the desire to not waste bandwidth though. Switeck
If you stop a torrent while the tracker is down, you'll probably lose a record of the extra uploading you did while the tracker was down...at least since your last successful update.
