bentcue007
I am sure mine are corrupted and I need to fix them somehow....any ideas. My torrents do not start properly after exiting and the client looks for torrents that are long ago gone and deleted. New torrents do not start at all unless I reload them. I have been all through the FAQ and the Search functions, but to no avail.
Firon
Run chkdsk /R on the hard drive.
bentcue007
I ran chkdsk /r and it did not help...the disk was clean...no errors. Now what?
thelittlefire
? What is the error message in status column/General pane (for 1.8 only)
bentcue007
The torrents that show up that won't load were torrents that were removed, deleted, long ago. There is no General pane for them as they don't exist. The torrent message says that the torrent file cannot be found in the location that is was stored in.When I close uTorrent I get an error message that says the resume file cannot be found. Where exactly should I be able to find the folder with the reusme file in it? If it is not there can I create it?
thelittlefire
Do you have permission to write to %APPDATA%\uTorrent http://utorrent.com/faq.php#Where_are_the_settings_and_.torrent_files_stored.3F... resume.dat is stored with settings.dat If you load a uTorrent with your saved settings there is a resume.dat I'd double check you have permissions for both the folder AND the files within the folder. Why did you remove the torrent file without removing the torrent job from the main torrent pane? bentcue007
I did originally remove the torrent from the main pane. The problem appears to be corrupt resume files. I checked and have almost 1000 resume.dat files in the folder that has them. I think I will have to start all over.
kae_kari
I have found a temporary work-around to the corrupted resume.dat files. You must change your settings for your torrent storage. On your main toolbar, go to Options, then Preferences. Click on Directories. Tell uTorrent to store the .torrent files in a folder of your choosing, then tell it to automatically load torrents from that folder. If you can, open the resume.dat files in Notepad or something similar and erase all of the information to the file, then re-save it. This puts your uTorrent back to it's original state, and then loading the torrents will start your program working again.
