Zmey Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 Hello, On a private tracker (where 95% of peers and seeds are from my country) my max upload can grow up to ~6MB/s, but on any global tracker my speed is ~700KB (unless on the same tracker utorrent finds ppl from my country). so here is the question - what connection type should i use in speed guide? I tested from 10 to 100 Mbit and didnt see much difference, for now i think 50Mbit is to go... but what do you think?tnx in advance
Switeck Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 uTorrent is not good yet at determining which peers+seeds are local and FAST to you.Choose the xx/1Mbit setting in uTorrent's Speed Guide (CTRL+G)...then increase your upload speed to 6000 KiloBYTES/second. My guess is you have a 100 megabits/second upload (and probably download) connection LOCALLY, but at most about 10 megabit/second (~1000 KiloBYTES/second) upload speed to the REST of the internet. You're probably currently unable to reach max upload speeds either locally or to others on the internet due to a slight weakness with your networking software and/or hardware. This isn't uncommon, my 100 megabits/second router won't let me get more than 80% max speed...or about 80 megabits/second. My internet connection though is only 6 down and 1 up...in megabits/second.
