Hello, I have Zyxel Zywall P1 firewall and with uTorrent 1.8 (11813) I got a strange problem, I never seen before. I configured my firewall to work with UPnP, so when uTorrent starts, in the log it writes this:

[2008-08-18 11:47:06] Installing 'utorrent.lng' to 'C:\Users\Spamer\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent\utorrent.lng'.

[2008-08-18 11:47:07] IPv6 is installed (I'm using Vista)

[2008-08-18 11:47:09] UPnP: Discovered host: http://192.168.167.1:80/DeviceDescription.xml

[2008-08-18 11:47:09] UPnP: Discovered new device: "ZyXEL ZyWALL P1 Internet Security Appliance" http://192.168.167.1:80/UD/act?3

[2008-08-18 11:47:10] UPnP: Mapped TCP port 60036 -> 192.168.167.33:60036 (this is my static IP, but it given to me by a firewall DHCP (it can be specified in firewall DHCP settings), not specified by me in the windows connection settings)

[2008-08-18 11:47:10] UPnP: TCP port 60036 -> 192.168.167.33:60036 mapped successfully.

[2008-08-18 11:47:11] UPnP: Mapped UDP port 60036 -> 192.168.167.33:60036

[2008-08-18 11:47:11] UPnP: UDP port 60036 -> 192.168.167.33:60036 mapped successfully.

[2008-08-18 11:47:11] UPnP: Getting external IP

[2008-08-18 11:47:11] UPnP: Got external IP: 89.112.70.45

From this, all is working good and a green connectios status appears. But soon

[2008-08-18 11:47:19] NAT-PMP: Unable to map port with NAT-PMP.

Now the uTorrent connection status is orange triangle

[2008-08-18 12:07:13] UPnP: Discovered host: http://192.168.167.1:80/DeviceDescription.xml

[2008-08-18 12:07:15] UPnP: ERROR removing TCP port 60036: (714) The specified value does not exist in the array

[2008-08-18 12:07:17] UPnP: Mapped TCP port 60036 -> 192.168.167.33:60036

[2008-08-18 12:07:17] UPnP: TCP port 60036 -> 192.168.167.33:60036 mapped successfully.

[2008-08-18 12:07:17] UPnP: UDP port 60036 -> 192.168.167.33:60036 is already mapped. Not re-mapping.

[2008-08-18 12:07:17] UPnP: Getting external IP

[2008-08-18 12:07:19] UPnP: Got external IP: 89.112.70.45

Now there is all working again. This happens periodically with ~15-20 minutes time interval.

*********************************

As you can see, uTorrent 1.8 ony mapped a UDP port, not TCP. uTorrent 1.7 mapped both TCP an UDP.

upd

I found the partial solution. When I'm changing mapped port from UDP to TCP, uTorrent is working good. But it changes TCP to UDP again automatically.

Someone please tell me, how I can deny uTorrent to change port from TCP to UDP?

Not sure if I have a problem or need to set net.upnp_tcp_only true either. Not sure how uTorrent works and if TCP and UDP are both necessary. Seems from reading that only TCP is really needed but UDP for DHT. I can't tell if my router (WRT54G V8.2 FW8.2.03) doesn't support mapping TCP and UDP on the same port or not.

I logged:

[2009-01-21 17:21:07]  Loaded ipfilter.dat (323764 entries)

Connection status was green and things working fine. UTorrent's and CanYouSeeMe.org's port checker both show everything open. Sometime after a while I notice that the connection status has changed to the yellow triangle and now both checkers show my port closed. Speed does not seem to be affected though. Additionally I had logged:

Does my router have the above described problem?

Should I set net.upnp_tcp_only to true?

If so would this affect DHT (which seems to work fine now)?

TIA
