raylap123
I leave it on to seed what I've downloaded and usually there are maybe a half dozen peers or so. But the last 2 days, I find upwards of 55-65 peers on my one seed. Of course, they are all choked except for 4 uploading. Is this amount normal and how long should I be nice guy? Chryss
Seeing peers in the thousands is normal. How long to be a 'nice guy' as it were, depends on if it is a public or private tracker (private trackers often have ratio rules). General rule of thumb is seed back the same amount you take - 1.0 share ratio.
raylap123
Ok, thanks, I knew about the ratio. In fact, the seed I was referring to has a ratio now of 14.591. I initially, when 1st starting with utorrent, didnt reciprocate correctly. But I found out about it the hard way, replaced my torrents and reseeded until i got back to a 1.5+ ratio. I just didnt realize so many peers were normal. thanks. rayl
