Welcome to the µTorrent Port Checker.

A test will be performed on your computer to check if the specified port is opened.

Checking port 61865 on 86.166.134.68...

Error! Port 61865 does not appear to be open.

Please see www.portforward.com for more information about how to map a port.

Please make absolutely sure that PeerGuardian2 or Protowall is allowing utorrent.com (72.20.34.145) in either of those programs. Those of you using ipfilter.dat should make sure the list does not include the website's IP. After making sure of this, re-run this test by refreshing the page (F5).

dont get me wrong i have downloaded stuff already but its super slow but it does come thru and my u torrent icon is green.. and ive gone to the setup page and everything seems to be right !!!

im running avg 8 .. and that has a resident shield also running windows xp firewall..

so any ideas why so slow ???? help please .............

Your upload speed of "around 200kb/s" is almost certainly around 200 kilobits/second rather than around 200 KiloBYTES/second. Unfortunately, that is only about 200 / 8 (bits per BYTE) = 25 KiloBYTES/second max possible usable upload speed in uTorrent.

In uTorrent, you can try running Speed Guide (CTRL+G) and choosing xx/192k (192 kilobits/second upload speed, very close to your "around 200kb/s").

...OR choose 192 kilobits/second upload settings from the 2nd link in my signature.

Disabling DHT and Resolve IPs (by right-clicking in an active torrent PEERS window to get the menu)...should free up a little more bandwidth to increase your download+upload speed slightly.

If it's not a private torrent, Peer Exchange should be enabled to find more peers and seeds quickly.
