1.7.7 works... 1.8 doesnt.

I made the mistake although I learnt from past experience, and downloaded the latest utorrent...

The 1.7.7 version worked o.k. , i used specific ports in a range proposed for the utorrent, and had no problem at all, the light was always green and the speeds were ok for my connection, in general.

With the 1.8 version first of all i can't get a green light. I did the following:

1) Changed several times the port from the settings

2) Made a port forward to my router (phillips 11G-ADSL) and didn't change the port anymore

3) Disabled the Windows firewall (the only firewall there is in my knowledge)

What else can I do?

Did you remove and re-add the rules in AVG's scanners? You must do this in almost all software these days which performs packet inspection.

At this moment the icon is green with message that my connection is working ok but when i left click on it in the internet explorer window that opens the message is that the port i use does not appear to be open
