utorrentuser39
Hi,I have been using uTorrent for over a year, but never encountered this before. My port is forwarded correctly, but all my downloads/uploads have red arrow next to it, indication tracker error. That is impossible since the files are from over 5 different trackers and i have confirmed with another friend who was able to download the file. When i start the program, there is upload speed of 1-2 kbps (not sure which file from), and then it declines to 0 kbps in few minutes. I am using college's internet connection, but like i said, i have used it for over a year and nothing like this ever happened.Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this problem? This is quite urgent for me. Thanks!
thelittlefire
And what's the tracker status... university connections don't usually like p2p traffic. Check for SOPs on campus as far as who to talk to, or even ask the IT people if you need permission to use filesharing applications on campus. utorrentuser39
All the trackers are working, that's for sure...because my friend (not in my college) can download files. I am not downloading copyrighted material, so i would think it will work because i have been using uTorrent for over a year and it has worked flawlessly. thelittlefire
According to your client, in the Trackers tab, what does Tracker Status column say?Have you tried one of the testing torrents, i.e. http://slackware.com/torrents/ ?
Switeck
Your college is probably trying to block ALL internet torrent traffic, on account of how much bandwidth it can use. This may be due to a recent policy change...often caused by a severe overload.
utorrentuser39
@littlefire:Under 'Trackers' Tab for each torrent, it has - [DHT] ('Not Allowed' under 'Status')[Local Peer Discovery] ('Not Allowed' under 'Status')[Peer Exchange] ('Not Allowed' under 'Status')[Tracker of the site] ('Connection closed by peer' under 'Status')@Switeck:You're probably right and i was thinking the same...i have emailed the IT guys at my university, let's see what they say.
