kez_1979 Posted August 23, 2008 Report Posted August 23, 2008 Hi GuysI hope someone can help me because I'm at the end of my tether here. Since I updated Utorrent to the latest version it has stopped downloading and freezes firefox and internet explorer. Also, they will not load any web pages while Utorrent is running. However I suspect that updating might be coincidental to my problem because Bit Tornado causes the same problem now.To give you some more info. My ports are open and forwarded. I'm using Vista. The green light is showing on Utorrent and I haven't adjusted any of the default setting in terms of upload limits etc. I use MaCafee firewall and Utorrent is a permitted program so it's not blocked.I suspect I may have some kind of software conflict but I'm clueless about what it may be. Does anyone have an idea? Thanks.
thelittlefire Posted August 23, 2008 Report Posted August 23, 2008 ... Have you checked your upload limits? Did you update the access rules in McAfee by removing then re-adding them for the new utorrent.exe version (most limit themselves to individual EXE files)? Many people who come for help also find themselves without a problem after removing it. Soooo, if you've got troubles and it worked before double check your rules are updated or you're likely to be asked to replace it with something like Comodo firewall.
kez_1979 Posted August 23, 2008 Author Report Posted August 23, 2008 Removing then re-adding access in MaCafee seemed like a good idea but unfortunately it's not solved it. The upload limit is the same as it's always been and there was never a problem before. I think I may have to do a system restore because this doing my box in - I'm one of those freaks who can't relax until a problem is sorted.
