dynamicx
Okay, so say I have about 50% of a video file via IRC dcc and 50% via a torrent. Both the exact same file. How would you go about merging them both to create a new file which would be ~75% complete (the dcc transfer is contiguous)? In principle it seems it should be quite easy, laying one file down and then laying the other on top of it only writing data and not empty space. Or is there any client which can use multiple sources? Would it be possible to run two torrent clients one machine and have them seed locally?Currently using utorrent 1.6.1 but I'd be happy to upgrade. Any help appreciated. DreadWingKnight
It would require the use of 2 client instances.1 serving the partial from the torrent1 resuming the partial from IRC.Point the second instance at the partially completed IRC DCC'd file when using "Add (No default save)" from the file menu for the torrent.1.6.1 is a security risk right now, you really should upgrade.
