Halfie
Last week I was able to get uTorrent 1.8 up and running from not working at all, but today I have another problem;( *sigh* >< (Sorry for being a pest!)My problem now is that uTorrent says I have no incoming connections, yet my ports are forwarded. I followed the http://www.portforward.com/ guide perfectly.I am downloading, just at a very slow speed (17.7 kB/s)---Info:Router: Linksys Wireless-GModel: WRT54G v.2.2Firmware Version: v3.03.6 TCP/IP patch: NoSoftware firewalls: NoneAntivirus software: NoneColor of the network status light in µTorrent's status bar: Yellow then Red after about 30 minutesOperating system installed: Windows Vista Ultimate- - Switeck
bayer,You MUST use the same port in uTorrent that you forwarded on your router and modem to your computer. ANY port will be firewalled (yellow or red) otherwise.

mu_user
Isn't that your router's LAN ip address?Router IP addresses are typically in the upper range by default (192.168.1.254). That model says its default is 192.168.1.245, but I think that's an inversion typo. Quick check is DOS black box, "ipconfig /all". Gateway is usually your router or possibly any modem.I agree with Switeck - worth mentioning, but probably not the problem.Halfie is running a pretty clean machine with NO FIREWALL (unless Windows Firewall is running and I missed it) and NO ANTIVIRUS.Depending on what's in the Sidebar, it can take a fair proportion of your bandwidth and other resources. Without knowing a bit more, Sidebar is an unknown variable, but not likely to be the cause of all of Halfie's woes. The next question is the router itself. Does it have a firewall that's interfering, or even any firewall at all? We can't say with absolute certainty without logging into the router, but the answer to the former is "almost certainly not", because Halfie had a third party run a specific BitTorrent test. Max-Planck-Institut is hardly known for its questionable reliability, and it established a swimming connection to and from Halfie's computer.Halfie may just be downloading torrents that happen to be slow. Speed is really Halfie's only complaint aside from the now ubiquitous yellow and red icons. So, we don't know what Halfie's speed might be with faster torrents. Glasnost's "pseudo-torrents" moved at approximately 1.5Mbps up and 4Mbps down. That sounds pretty fast. So, if Halfie tested a few other torrents and got similar speeds as with Glasnost along with the red and yellow icons, just where might the problem possibly lie?mu_user

Halfie
Well thanks anyway:) I'll figure something out I'm sure.If anyone finds a solution in the future let me know!~Thanks again.
Switeck
You knowing both the LAN and WAN ips of your router, modem, and computer probably wouldn't hurt.Since so many modems have router features now...it can be a real mess figuring it all out.
