mach
Is it possible for event=completed to get sent without downloading anything, for example if the user has the files from somewhere else? I realize in the spec it says that it event=completed must not get sent if the user already has the file. I'm trying to figure out on a torrent site why a few users have not downloaded anything for a specific torrent, yet are marked as having completed it. I've checked the code, and it only marks a torrent as completed if event=completed is sent.
Caius_Merlyn
Yes, if the completed file is already on the hard drive the user can use the "Force Re-Check" feature to check the hash and start seeding.
Ultima
Not really the question at hand -- this question is regarding tracker communication, not the ability to reseed torents.@mach: Are you sure the users downloaded absolutely nothing? What client/version were they using? It's possible that a client sends event=completed for reseeding torrents, sure, but the client would indeed be in violation of the specs...
