Technarch Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 Hi here is my advice on how to resolve NAT error beyond that already said.To get upnp working properly in utorrent from windows xp when you're behind a router-firewall that you do NOT have access to, but you DO have administrator access to the Windows XP machine and the windows firewall is on, in the exceptions list turn ON the upnp framework and all of a sudden utorrent will begin displaying stuff like (upnp ####) where it didn't before. This will show you that upnp is now working properly and the port number. The other option is, don't pick a high port number. Pick a really low port number. One that you know they can't possibly firewall from you. Pick port 80 (web) or something. I'm not entirely sure how well this works, milage may vary and require testing. But the first paragraph does work for sure. I don't need to use this method because I was able to add upnp framework and thus use random ports. (Edit: Removed some stuff after this point because I think I was wrong.)Bottom line though, there is nothing you can do about clients that absolutely refuse to send you any data no matter how long you sit there.Plz comment people.
j33 Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 For UPnP to work the router must support it - not all routers do.
