Picking14u
ok.. i spent 3-5 days on here trying to fix my 1.8.1 utorrent.. and was about to jump out a window.. but honestly thanks for the help guys.... but here are some things to try..1) if your port is not forwarded.. chances are nothing the guys tell you to do will work.. ( i could be wrong ) my speed's were all over the place, from nothing to about 200/kbs i have a wrt54g modem and the turion64 amd , and did all the fixes and none of it worked,, tho the modem upgrade has helped it.. tho my computer guy didn't know much about it... i was also receiving the sometimes red, sometimes yellow,, and every once in awhile a green check at the bottom, but never got the port forward properly2) once i had everything working properly .. IE.. port forwarded.. the speeds went back up to 600kb/s the speed settings thingy didn't seem to make much of a difference but for me.. the max upload for my max down load speed seems to be 30/kbs anything more or less affects it by atleast 50% .3) but today ( after adding 50 downloads ) and letting it run for about 8 hours, it slowed down to about 250-350/kbs and couldn't get it back up no matter what i tried.. i did get some spikes.. but after having some problems with the program finding files.. i deleted the ones that wouldn't download... my speed went back up to consistant 600 kbs again... SO I AM ASSUMING that i had too many upload files .. and now that i have none i am back up to normal speed... my speed setting areupload 30connections ( per torrent )max active torrents 30upload slots 4connections ( global ) 750max active downloads 30this is not to get people not to upload.. but just my experience with the new 1.8.1 utorrent, and if anyone sees something wrong with my setting , as to why when i had over 50 completed files that it slowed it down, feel free to comment, i don't want to be a leech, but i want my speeds that i pay for... not sure if 30kb/s is considered leeching or not.. just trying to give people some more things to think about when trying to get your max speed out of utorrent.. and I AM JUST A NOVICE, so take what i say with a grain of salt
thelittlefire
NO!Well, with an upload of 30, you should be putting out at MOST 10 slots, divided into how many torrents you want.30/(30*4)=1/4 OF A KiBps. Go to the Speed Guide, use the preset for 30 (closest would be xx/256) start there
DreadWingKnight
upload 30connections ( per torrent )max active torrents 30upload slots 40.25kbyte/sec per torrent. NOT good for things. You're splitting your connection more ways than is practical (or even minorly unhealthy) for your connection.Your assumptions made in #3 are BAD assumptionsFollow:http://utorrent.com/setup_guide.phphttp://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=34259
