JethroUK
Solicitors "Davenport Lyons" have been fining people as much as £20,000 for downloading/seeding computer games illegallyThese have been tracked from ISP side with full cooperationThis is all despite them having open, wireless network that is easily high-jacked and little or no evidence to support the fact that they actually downloaded itI'm wondering whether any Utorrent user had a summons from Davenport Lyons yet? WITCHYWOMAN530
My downloadsd have been limited so far to movies, tv, olympics, etc. No summons yet. Do you suppose it's limited to games? I downloaded mega gigs from azureus before it "upgraded"--no problems there--summons-wise anyway. :/

Lord Alderaan
They only target people that aren't likely to oppose them. All the cases they won was 'by default' meaning the defendant didn't show up to defend himself resulting in a win for Davenport. Hollow victories, they haven't really accomplished anything except for gathering fuel for even grander scare tactics.
scruff
all we can do to try to help prevent this is use IP blocking software like peer guardian and if you know of relitively safe PRIVATE tracker. Most people getting caught and prossicuted are the people who use the public sites and connect to anybody and as in the previous post, they don't contest the action against them.Remember. Basic rights state that you are innocent intil proven guilty
