thelittlefire
You don't download the old versions. They have security holes. Do you see http://utorrent.com/faq.php#What_does_Download_Limited_in_the_status_bar_mean.3F in the status bar or General tab?
Switeck
Also try 1st and 2nd links in my signature.Bad settings in uTorrent can cripple both uTorrent and your connection.
johhny
Nothing works to help 1.8 to work properly, I have fresh WindowsXP just formated it and utorrent 1.8 doesn't work as it should. I'm now back to 1.7.7 and it works PERFECTLY - I didn't have to do anything to adjust anything, it just-simply works great. So yes I'm gonna use this one for sure. thelittlefire
You set your upload to 3 KiBps? Don't do it. Or be labelled a leecher. You didn't even mention what you tried OR the answers to the questions posed to you.
johhny
Sorry but let's be realistic would you read or anyone else 10-15 A4 pages of help how to TRY to fix something or simply install version 1.7.7 which is working just fine. Of course 99.999% of people would just install v1.7.
DreadWingKnight
Downgrading doesn't solve the problem, and in this case only creates other problems to deal with.
Switeck
Yes, v1.8 has bugs that can cause speed problems...as well as anti-leech features designed to prevent really bad settings from hurting everyone. But hey, go back to v1.7.7 that's vulnerable to remote attacks and hostile .torrent files...both of which are not just lab examples, they actually exist in the wild.v1.8.1 betas no longer have the anti-leech features that are so hated by leeches. Turns out they were too effective. But don't bother using v1.8.1 beta, at least wait till v1.8.1 comes out...and lots of people who ARE willing to read a lot and actually think for themselves maybe can save you from your own stupidity. thelittlefire
I propose a new ballot measure, to be passed by the UN... let's send all the leechers via Golgafrinchan Ark B to colonize the new planet we will all live on.
