Szkeptik Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 Hi. My UTorrent has this weird problem that I don't really know if it's a problem at all or if it's affecting my speeds or not. So the icon in the bottom of the screen is green, indicating that everything's fine, but if I click on it and then click "Test if port is forwarded properly" it tells me "ERROR! Port 'xxxxx' does not appear to be open". I don't know which one I should believe. Is this affecting anything or not?
Ultima Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 If µTorrent sees a green light, then it's probably more accurate than the port tester. Check the Peers tab for all of your torrents... do you see peers with an "I" in the Flags column?
Szkeptik Posted September 8, 2008 Author Report Posted September 8, 2008 Thanks for the reply. Yes, there are some peers with an "I". What does that mean?
Ultima Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 That means they were incoming connections, so the port must have been forwarded properly.
GradeAbra Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 I have this same problem as well. My Light is green but later i realise that my port is closed. I wonder is this the reason why i cannot get high speed?? I did portforwarding successfully..but why?
