stevvi
I'm sure this must have been mentioned b4 but how do you get your IP NOT to display in the peers list? I'm on a torrent right now and someone's IP is listed as "." and he/she is using uTorrent/1300.Just wondering...

splintax
In other words, run your own reverse DNS.
stevvi
Hrmm... I guess you maybe right but I'm not fully convinced. No-one wanted to comment on Animorc's final post about capitals in the thread mentioned above. I also didn;t think you were allowed to use full stops inj computer names. Finally, why would uTorrent put a USA flag by the IP . ?
splintax
µTorrent uses a USA flag if it doesn't recognize the TLD and isn't told otherwise in flags.conf.And I said reverse DNS, not computer name. If you run your own reverse DNS server (don't ask me about the specifics, 'cos I don't know ) you can get your computer to return anything to µTorrent (and any other reverse DNS query). Computer names are in all caps and only occur if you're on the same ISP and subnet as the peer.
