george25
Ok, so here is the situation. I've read through the forum and no problem is exactly like mine, so I really don't know what to do. I am currently downloading one torrent at around 400kb/s. Two other downloads will stay green for about 30 seconds, their download speed getting up to around 100kb/s, and then will go red with an x. The error message says the system cannot find the path specified and the availabiltiy bar is red. The port is open, the DHT, whatever that is, has 301 nodes, and their are 17 seeds for one red torrent and 5 seeds for the other red torrent. What the heck is going on???? I have no clue! Please tell me why only one torrent is downloading and the others go red....I would be so ever grateful. Thank you!
thelittlefire
Did you check that the pathname isn't too long for Windows? This regularly happens with LARGE torrents with a compendium/anthology of content.. multiple directories, multiple filenames, all very verbose. http://utorrent.com/faq.php#While_torrenting_I_get_error_the_system_cannot_find_the_path_specifiedWhere does it say the data is being saved in Save As? If you right click on a file you tried to download (preferrably completed) and try to open it, what happens? If you right click on the torrent in the main torrent pane and select "open containing folder" what happens?
george25
Wow! Great advice. I changed the download location to my computer's hard drive which has tons of free space, and now they are all downloading. Amazing! Why is that? Anyways, thanks a lot for your help. thelittlefire
It wasn't saved to a hard drive before? ... Windows has a shorter pathname limitation than other modern OSes. Windows interprets the "full\path\to\file" as the pathname.. which isn't a problem with short ones, but when you have "my\directory\structure\looks\like\this\every\genre"... you can quickly reach 255 characters.Glad you were able to move it without incident.
