mrsharris
Hi there,I have a problem,Just moved to a new house with an Etec pt-8411g Wireless router.Connected to the network with my laptop (Vista), and it connects fine, internet worksBut the problem is Utorrent now has very slow download speeds, because i need to port forward. So i go to port forward.com and follow the instructions for my router, just like i did at my last house (and it worked fine). So i finish the last step and as my router reboots it has limited connectivity! So i delete the settings i made and it returns to normal.Asides from not letting me port forward i also now get server not found errors ALL the time in both Firefox and IE7, and i just end up clicking until the page finally displays or sometimes it just wont.I'd really appreciate some help, if you need more info just ask
thelittlefire
Following along in http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992 have you lowered the connection settings (is your internet the same speed as before? You may need to reset http://utorrent.com/setup_guide.php ) and reduced Ctrl-P > Advanced > net.max_halfopen
sweetmeat
i'm having problems with port forwarding. i've set up a static ip and followed all the guides for forwarding a port. ive called tech support and followed their instructions however it still won't download over 12 kb/s and most of the time not at all when i check the speed guide it says that the port is not open HELP
thelittlefire
Don't set your upload to 1 KiB.What router make/model do you have? Also what modem make/model do you have? Are they listed @ http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm as being routers so you need to forward ports in BOTH, or set the modem to bridge-mode so you only have to worry about forwarding on the router. ab327
i am also having issues with this, and as ive googled the problem, one thing comes up over and over.it worked fine in 1.7, but now with 1.8 it doesn't.it's really annoying. i have changed ports in utorrent and then on both belkin (my house) and netgear (parents house) to test it, but it still doesn't work. and then randomly, it came back for like 5 mins, but then went again.no sense??? thelittlefire
When you update you need to remake rules for forwarding in your AV/security/firewall applications.Your issue is not the same, and it's rude to post in someone else's thread especially when you're unrelated. Firon
You also need to set a static IP when forwarding, as most routers will refuse to port forward to an IP in their DHCP range.
