fribble
im downloading a file about 2GB in size, it has been running for a few days on end now and under seeds it says 9(143) under peers it says 41(930) yet my download speed is only always hovering around 5kbps and my upload speed about 6kbps. I have a 2Mb DSL connection and have disabled all the windows firewall things and have configured my firewall Zonealarm to accept the port i use. The port is over 10000, yet all the speeds are killing me because they are so slow. i have tweaked most of the settings which havnt helped at all? many thanksand also, if i upgrade to the new beta of utorrent will that 2gb file still be there? Ultima
Yes, if you upgrade it'll still be there. Are you sure you configured everything correctly? Do you have a router? And I thought Windows Firewall is disabled when you use ZoneAlarm... O.oWhat ISP are you using? Can it be throttling your BitTorrent connections? fribble
i turned of the one in services.msc aswell. i have a router which i did all the portforwarding for the port that utorrent uses. at the bottom it says "Network OK" im unsure if this is good or bad. Ultima
Network OK should be a green light... did you try limiting your upload to 80% of your theoretical maximum? And what ISP are you using? Also, what router?
fribble
green light?, my ISP is tiscali.co.uk and my router is some crazy brand that went bankrupt, =P it says on the front, Addon 4 ports ADSL Router.
Ultima
Heh ignore the green light part, I meant that having Network OK should mean that you configured the router/firewall correctly. Hm... *thinks*
fribble
should i have the UPnP box checked or unchecked?
Ultima
It shouldn't matter in this case, since you're already getting Network OK.

Firon
In all honesty, it looks like your ISP is throttling BT.
fribble
is that on all the ports? if so can anyone reccomend any good ISP's in the UK that don't throttle BT?
Firon
My suggestion is to try this torrent: http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/If you get low speeds, your ISP is definitely throttling BT.
