zam
It is a very nice bt client. I have been using bitspirit for sometime now, but will switch to utorrent. One little request. Is it possible to see the amount of time a particular torrent has been active for after it has been completed? If I am seeding for lets say 72 hrs, how will I know how much time is remaining before the 72 hours are up?Thanks.
1c3d0g
Hmm...you're right, you can't. It's going to be difficult to implement something reliably, because peers come and go all the time and so the time will jump up and down constantly. :/
ICleolion
You didnt read what he said properly 1c3d0g.
1c3d0g
No, I did read it properly. :| If you're seeding for 36 hours, and all peers have completed the torrent (100%), what time is it going to display? Is it going to keep counting 'till it reaches 72 hours without actually seeding anything? That doesn't look right to me... :/
ICleolion
You said the time will jump up AND down. The timer will just stand still in this case u just described. Your earlier post made it seem like u misunderstood.
1c3d0g
OK, maybe I "worded" it wrongly. I should have said "the time would jump all over the place" or some such. I'll give you that... :/

Ghost21
Why would you upload according to time? Isn't it better to upload according to volume of data? Even if your upload is ongoing for more than 72 hours, you can't be sure of the amount it has actually uploaded because the speed fluctuates. zam
Well, I usually seed using a combination of ration and time. I usually try to seed for at least a few days even if the ratio is met. It is hard to do this using utorrent. I think it would be more difficult to check for the actual time someone is leeching from you as was suggested in a post above. But tracking the total elapsed time (after the torrent has completed) is seems easier to implement though I am no programmer. It is easy to see this in BitSpirit as it is one of the columns in the main window; maybe a similar column could be added to uTorrent for those who want it displayed. idle.newbie
can't see any difference your request and ETA column. ETA = maximun time needed for ratio or time.
