Port80 error

Recommended Posts

This question might in someways be similar to others already listed.

If anyone could direct me to the right thread, or help to resolve the problem I'd appreciate it very much.

Thank you.

Here is my computer environment:

OS: Windows Vista

uTorrent version: 1.8 (build 11813)

Internet connection: optical fiber (with unlimited data exchange)

Local: Local area network with over 10 computers (WnidowsXP & MacOS 10) connected to one router, and from there connected to the ISP.

Anti-virus: All computers have AVG Free version 8.0.169 intalled.

My problem:

Eversince I intalled uTorrent, everytime I run uTorrent on my computer, it seems to shutdown port 80 for all the computers on the local network.

I am not sure why this happens, and how uTorrent could interfere with the other computers on the network, but after quite a bit of troubleshooting, I have noticed that as soon as I shut uTorrent down, all the computers are back to normal.

Then, when I start uTorrent, after several minutes, all the computers cannot display webpages on their browsers. However, internet connection is active, since pinging outside websites come back with full replies, and online games stay connected.

I am totally lost, and would appreciate it if someone could shed light on my problem.

Thank you, in advance.
