zufgfrig78
Hi this might be the wrong forum but i will ask anyway.i am trying to send an email from home to email at work. it is an exe file (actually its an original nintendo emulator, im so slow at work at the moment) trouble is when its gets to the work email it gets block because it says it contains an executable file. i have tried changing the file name to pdf, 7z, jpg, rar, zip but it still knows what it is. how can i get past this problem. badger_fruit
have you tried to rename the file to "something.ex_" ?we have the same problem at work.Another option would be copy it to a usb pen drive random idea # 2 would be DO SOME WORK AT WORK hehehe
moogly
Maybe zip or rar the file with Winrar, Winzip or 7zip before emailing it.Another solution, use HJ-Split http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/ to split .exe in parts as .exe.001 .002 etcIt's a standalone freeware and doesn't need admin rights I think. And email the parts.3rd solution, use a free file hoster like http://rapidshare.com/ or http://www.mediafire.com/ to dwl the exe at your work. badger_fruit
if the guy's filter is a paranoid as ours, zip file contents will be scanned.exe files are difficult to disguise, but it shows that he has good firewall at work if it's detecting and blocking it!the 3rd solution moogly posted IMO would be best - or if you have the ability to host it on your own ftp server?
