superadamwo
Rogers is a canadian ISP. They block all encrypted traffic, and limit bittorrent rates. Does anyone know if there's currently a way to get faster bittorrent speeds when using rogers?
thelittlefire
Your best bet is to use limited settings either http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=34259 or lower and follow the tips in the sticky http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992 post #2 .. I do know that bell and/or resellers are shaped between 4p-2a so you should also enable the Ctrl-P > Scheduler at those limits during those times to cause uTorrent less headache. Switeck
With Rogers, you're better off to allow some unencrypted connections.So...set outgoing connections to ENABLED encryption and allow incoming legacy connections.Reduce overhead by uTorrent by disabling extra features and reducing connections. This means disable DHT, LPD, and Resolve IPs (right-click in PEERS window on an active torrent). In the 2nd link in my signature, choose settings no higher than 512 kilobits/second upload max...as Rogers probably won't let you upload faster than 30 KB/sec total...except maybe to other Rogers customers. jedi99
Hi: I've just started using utorrent and I'm having the same problems listed above. Followed a few of the steps and it seems to have helped a little. How do I use the "Scheduler" thanks for the help!
thelittlefire
Not your thread. Are you also on Rogers in .ca ? Press F1 to open the user manual and look at the usage/settings available for the Scheduler in Preferences.
