gomp
I noticed on a few recent torrents that I was rarely downloading of seeders when I was almost done, for a while was only 1 seeder and a bunch of peers me included creeping up to 100%, I was getting my peices of the other 99% people tho. When I got to 100% and started seeding I see I am not prioritising peers that are almost complete and another observation is I never send to 1.7/1.8 utorrent clients mainly only bitcomet, azereus and utorrent 1.6.1.is this expected and utorrent clients are less agressive in fetching from seeds? Ultima
You're not supposed to expect µTorrent to be prioritizing peers that are almost complete.
gomp
how does it prioritise then or is it random?I remember reading somewhere that seeders will send to peers who are almost complete first with the harder peices and allow peers to send to people with low completion. Ultima
No, seeders shouldn't necessarily send to peers who are almost complete; it should focus on getting the rarer pieces out, and the pieces that the almost-complete peers are missing aren't necessarily the rarer pieces. How it decides, I'm not 100% certain, but it certainly isn't based on peer progress.
