jevan30253
I am not that familiar with the settings of utorrent and all but i have a somewhat good idea. I have a torrent with 15 seeds and 34 leechers but i no the torrent isnt bad because i got the same speeds [ 5- 6 kB/s] with the open office download. I do not know what is wrong but here are the screens of the settings i have:All suggestions will be greatly appreciatedP.S. i have had very good speeds before i updated to the new utorrent 1.8 build 118113........since the update this is the first download i have doneP.S.S i have also port forwarded and changed my port many times to see if any changes occur but no luck
DreadWingKnight
Upload rate of 1 = obnoxiously stupid.http://utorrent.com/setup_guide.php
Firon
Your upload rate is too low. Open the Speed Guide and choose your connection's upload speed in kbit/s.
Switeck
"P.S. i have had very good speeds before i updated to the new utorrent 1.8 build 118113"I do not understand how 1 KB/sec upload speed is "very good".2nd link in my signature will give more conservative settings than uTorrent's regular Speed Guide (CTRL+G). These should work BEST on smaller torrent swarms with slow peers and seeds -- the ones that need the MOST help to get decent download speeds! thelittlefire
How did you miss the http://utorrent.com/faq.php#What_does_Download_Limited_in_the_status_bar_mean.3F in the General tab?
jevan30253
the 1 kB/s upload was only temporarily set for other reason it slipped my mind when i was making screens i usually have it at 15 kB/s.......does anything change??????? Firon
Raise the upload speed and your downloads will improve. What is your connection's upload speed in kilobit/s? Open the Speed Guide and choose the closest option in the list. Remember, upload, not download.
jevan30253
I raised the uploads and i did see the downloads increase .........but is there some ratio/proportion for max upload rate to download rate you get? because i looked at:[http://utorrent.comfaq.php#What_does_Download_Limited_in_the_status_bar_mean.3F]and was sort of confused. Thanks for everything so far
Firon
At lower upload caps (1-5 kbyte/s), utorrent will cap your download. But beyond that, there's no limit imposed by the app, but other peers will give you more upload if you upload more to them.
