ThreeHeadedDog
1. Does skipping files in a package and only allowing one to download on high priority speed up the rate at which that one file is downloaded or would it be the same if I let them all download and just had the one I wanted first on high?2. Is there anyway to have it not kill the browsing speed while running Utorrent?
Firon
1) you're better off waiting for the entire torrent to download.2) http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992#p258231
ThreeHeadedDog
So... having all the files downloading at normal priority while having one on high won't slow down the speed at which the high one is downloaded?
Firon
Not really, though high priority isn't a guarantee that it'll download before the other files. Skipping all the other ones is the only way to ensure the file you want gets downloaded first, but it's not good for the swarm to do that. Also, do try upgrading to 1.8.1 RC1 to improve browsing speeds. KayossZero
Use cFosSpeed, http://www.cfos.de/speed/cfosspeed_e.htm It's the absolute best program for using using max/near max bandwidth and still able to play a game or surf the web reliable. GTHK
It'll keep the pieces you have and you can continue later.
Firon
But you should close utorrent and wait a little BEFORE you shutdown Windows.
lak100
when I download something and it says complete. It needs to seed to play-yes?
thelittlefire
When it says Seeding you can play it yes.No you don't have to SEED to play. uTorrent is unrelated to playing media.Edit It NEEDS to say seeding for you to play it successfully, as that's the first time you have a complete file.
