padfoot
Hi, I know that this problem has come up before, but I've searched and searched and none of the supposed "solutions" have worked. My problem is, and always has been that there is a little yellow triangle at the bottom of Utorrent. I have gone through the www.portforward.com guide many times, i have a static IP address, and i really don't know why it isn't working. Here is some information:Router: Belkin N1 MIMI: F5D8231-4Modem: Netcomm NB5 ADSL2+ Average down speed: 10-16kB/sPort Number: 65001 (Utorrent says that it is not open)Operatins System: Windows XP Professional SP2Firewall: McAfee & Windows firewall (But the windows one is switched off, and I've allowed Utorrent access through McAfee)Speed Test Result: Around 133kB/s-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Thatis all i can think of at the moment, if you need any more information just ask, and thanks in advance!-padfoot
Firon
What does the port tester in utorrent's Speed Guide say?
padfoot
Welcome to the µTorrent Port Checker.A test will be performed on your computer to check if the specified port is opened.Checking port 65001 on 202.161.**.***...Error! Port 65001 does not appear to be open. Please see www.portforward.com for more information about how to map a port. Please make absolutely sure that PeerGuardian2 or Protowall is allowing utorrent.com (72.20.34.145) in either of those programs. Those of you using ipfilter.dat should make sure the list does not include the website's IP. After making sure of this, re-run this test by refreshing the page (F5).That is what it says when i click the "Test if port is Forwarded properly" button in Utorrent. Firon
Connect your PC directly to the modem and see if you get an open port then.
padfoot
I've done so, and i still get the same error message...
Firon
Uninstall McAfee, reboot, then give it a try. If that still fails, then it means your modem is also a router (or your ISP doesn't give you a real IP).
padfoot
So if my modem is already a router, there is no hope in getting a good connection in uTorrent?
moogly
Check your router rule is with your local IP. maybe you can try to configure manually your Network Connexion in XP.

padfoot
OKAY!I tried experimenting with my modem, and i found a guide on the Netcomm website that told me how to forward a port on the modem, and now..... it works! The only thing is... I'm still getting slow downloads, so is there anything that you could suggest that might help that?
