zeke1345 Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 for few days now my download speed won't go above 10kb/s no matter what I do, does anyone have idea on what I should do.
Switeck Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 You're not alone.Your ISP (Carphone Warehouse Broadband Services -- which possibly resells to AOL and others) just turned completely hostile:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=46778
zeke1345 Posted October 5, 2008 Author Report Posted October 5, 2008 I aready read these four guide and I have follow the guide but the speed still won't go up.
Switeck Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 That's my signature -- every post I make attaches that. But did you read all of this message thread?:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=46778
zeke1345 Posted October 5, 2008 Author Report Posted October 5, 2008 when I said mo matter what I do I meant no matter what I do and when I did what the guide said the speed become slower then before.
Switeck Posted October 5, 2008 Report Posted October 5, 2008 Then use whatever gives you the best results. But it does not change that your ISP is to blame....Btw, what settings give you the best results?I want to update my post so others get as much as possible.
zeke1345 Posted October 5, 2008 Author Report Posted October 5, 2008 can you tell me What is ISP, the setting I used is from the speed guide where you choose the connection type xx/1Mbit.also in the trackers option the DHT, local peer discovery and peer exchange is always there but the status for these three is always not allowed is that normal.one more thing this whole thing started on Tuesday but in the morning the speed was fine it was download at 50-100kb/s but in the afternoon the speed just drop below 10kb/s and this is the begin of my problem, so do you have any idea on what could have cause this.
thelittlefire Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 Your ISP is who you get internet from. Not allowed means the torrent is private. Yes that is normal for private torrents. He's talking about GLOBALLY disable them.If your ISP doesn't TELL you when they shape your traffic from a "normal" 100 KiBps download, see if you can get tech support to help you out by asking for "escalation" until someone will tell you or link you to where they say when/why you get shaped traffic.
Switeck Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 Are you sure your max upload is 1 megabit/second?!
zeke1345 Posted October 6, 2008 Author Report Posted October 6, 2008 thinks for telling me about the ISP.I don't know about what my max upload is but when I did a speed test the result I get is always between 1-2mbit so I just put the setting on 1mbit, also if "max upload" is about my upload and download limit my one is unlimited.
Switeck Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 I'm pretty sure that most ADSL connections top out at 1 megabit/second UPLOAD. Are you sure that 1-2 megabit/second isn't your download max?
zeke1345 Posted October 6, 2008 Author Report Posted October 6, 2008 you are right the 1-2mbit/s is my download speed and my upload speed is 0.4-0.6mbit/s, this is from three days ago.this is from today: download speed 0.3-0.5mbit/s, upload speed 0.1mbit/s this is getting slower then before.I also never mention this before but I'm uploading about three times faster then my download speed.
Switeck Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 Try lower settings in my speed guide (2nd link in my signature).
