Firon
SOCKS does not encrypt anything.
dreaven3
It encrypt only the Tracker and not the peer communication like Azureus. Is this you would say.
Firon
SOCKS encrypts nothing. Not peer communication, not trackers. It has no provisions for encrypting anything.
dreaven3
sorry for your wasted time, i ask the wrong question.the right question came now.change the socks5-proxy my ip-adress only for the tracker or also for the peers.so that also the peers see my "new" ip-adress from the proxy
RoadRanger
DHT and peer exchange both send out you real IP as they are presently not proxied as they use UDP. I have them both disabled when using http://TorrentPrivacy.com 's socks5 proxy via encrypted SSH tunnel. Rumor has it that 1.8.2 will proxy UDP? Firon
No guarantees, but it is on the todo for this version.
RoadRanger
:) I'm also trying to talk the TorrentPrivacy guys into configuring their SSH servers to allow incoming connections. I can "see" their ssh.conf file and that it is missing the option "GatewayPorts yes".
