sprank
Hi,I downloaded utorrent about a month ago and used it once for a torrent file and it worked fine. I tried to use it today for another torrent file, but it would not take the torrent file that I downloaded. I went to another site for the same torrent file and that one would not work either.I then went into the speed guide section of utorrent and did a test to see if the port is forwarded properly. I was directed to a page that said that I had a port error. It said that port 52199 does not appear to be open. It also directed me to portforward.com, but I went throgh the listings and my router is not listed within the Westell section. Is there an easy fix for me on this issue since utorrent worked fine the first time I used it? thelittlefire
What is the exact message you got when the torrent wouldn't load? Have you tried Ctrl-U (add from URL) to see if the torrent may have been truncated/mangled while downloaded ?
sprank
I deleted the torrent files after they did not work, but it stated for both that there was an error and that they would not work. The exact error I did not write down.I believe the first time I used utorrent I downloaded the torrent file to my desktop and then dragged the file into utorrent once I opened it and it worked fine. The only other thing I did this time was.... start utorrent and update to the newest version. Do you think I should unistall utorrent and then download it again to see if I have the same issue? thelittlefire
If there is a problem ONLY when downloading, then loading... it's possible the location you're saving to has problems. Can you try doing it like you did before? Also, if you right click, copy link, in most browsers, you can then go to uTorrent (alt-tab usually) and Ctrl-U and the URL to the torrent should be there...Please notice if this fails, in either the Logger tab, or Ctrl-C in the dialog which comes up with the error :/
