How to block that client? Advice please.
thelittlefire Posted October 10, 2008 Report Posted October 10, 2008 Bittorrent is about sharing.... you DON'T get to control who you upload to.Edit: (for sake of logicality, adding removed post information, I do not remember who post--sorry--) You can block peers from your client, it is called ipfilter.dat http://utorrent.com/faq.php#What_is_ipfilter.dat.3FPress F1 in the main window to open the User Manual and find more information as well.
DreadWingKnight Posted October 10, 2008 Report Posted October 10, 2008 Just because they aren't uploading to you, it doesn't mean they aren't uploading at all.
Murlok Posted October 10, 2008 Author Report Posted October 10, 2008 "Just because they aren't uploading to you, it doesn't mean they aren't uploading at all." Thats right but if we presume peers got slow connection or put sharing down? Other clients do have opportunity to block this behavior. As I found out so have utorrent also. But that I not gonna write in a public forum. Thanks for answer my question. But I now know how to do it.So for me the subject is closed .
DreadWingKnight Posted October 10, 2008 Report Posted October 10, 2008 Such micromanagement of swarm dynamics causes long-term performance problems.
Switeck Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 If that Transmission client gave you 650 MB for the 1 GB you uploaded to it...it still may be the BEST peer/seed you connected to on that torrent. Go ahead, block it...download speeds will likely just get worse.
