englishmen
What is the point in favorites? Also is there a way i can be notified when a keyword which i specify appears in a feed and have the option to add it to µtorrent? Or is that what favorites is for because it don't seem to work if it is meant for that.
Firon
Favorites are to automatically download torrents that match the filter.http://utorrent.com/faq.php#Does_.C2.B5Torrent_support_RSS_feeds.3F
englishmen
Thanks for the reply Firon, i have quake and matrix as a favorite both boxes are ticked and i have selected my desktop as a save location. When i view the filerush feed there are files listed in there as quake 4 demo and a matrix patch, yet the torrents are still not download, any suggestions why this is thanks. Firon
you used quake* and matrix* right? And uh, I think that it only applies to NEW things in the feed, it won't auto-download for old stuff (as in, stuff that comes in after you make the filter)
englishmen
Well i deleted the feed and all favs then added the favs again then loaded the feed, still nothing.
Firon
That's not going to help. Like I said, it only applies to new things. It doesn't consider a feed you just loaded as new, or if you just started the client. It'll get -new- things that come in the next feed update.Just get the existing stuff yourself (select, right click -> open).
englishmen
Ar right, i now understand thanks for all the help Firon. How come it does not recognize a new feed i just loaded into it as new tho?
Firon
It doesn't consider it "new". I'm not sure why ludde designed it like that, but it might be so you don't accidentally get old stuff in the feed that you already have?
englishmen
Oh yer good point, Thanks again for the help.
splintax
It's a good idea, it just makes (among other things) the client a bitch to test out. It's really hard to tell if you've done everything correctly.
Firon
I was WROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG.Totally and utterly wrong.I added a filter (Stargate*), made SURE to check it, then hit update, and it downloaded the Stargate torrent, evne though it was "old". So um, apparently it does do it for old stuff. Adding a new feed worked too. I think you may've just forgotten to check the filter.
splintax
Congratulations Firon, admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery.
