palanken8
I know that the files to be downloaded are broken into pieces, but other peers somehow must have access to these pieces in order to download them from me... are they in a shared folder and is the .torrent index file itself shared, too?I'm worried beause I made the mistake to save a few .torrent files to my hard drive without creating a specific folder for them. Now is it possible that my entire hard drive became shared for some time? Sorry if I'm stupid, but I read a lot of confusing comments about accidently exposing personal data when using p2p. DreadWingKnight
Once you remove a task from uTorrent, it stops sharing. The ONLY client out there that I know of that actually shares the entire hard drive without permission is Xunlei. palanken8
Thanks! But then what is the shared folder where the still active files are stored? Or is there a shared folder at all? Somewhere I read yes, somewhere no... I can't find out where the file is uploading from on my computer.
DreadWingKnight
There is no shared folder. BitTorrent isn't a traditional p2p system like that.http://utorrent.com/guides.php
