Jayden67 Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 Until this new version utorrent was the best torrent downloader I had ever used. Since upgrading the program no longer works. It takes a long time to load, and the instant it finally appears on my screen it freezes. (Only utorrent freezes, everything else works normally.) I use Windows XP and have CA Internet Security Suite installed with no other fire wall software. I believe utorrent is (momentarily) connecting because when I mouse over the utorrent icon in the system tray it does show uploading and downloading at several kb.The program worked great before upgrading and I haven't made any hardware or software changes. Plaese help me fix this problem so I can resume using utorrent.

Jayden67 Posted October 16, 2008 Author Report Posted October 16, 2008 Thank you for responding to my post. I have posted the log and am looking into how to re-create CA ISS rules. JNeo Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 Same for me my pc totally freezes as soon as a download starts, i have no antivirus, no firewall, no programs running at all at startup.I'm running Vista SP1.
moogly Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 @Jneo: please create your own thread. And give us full info: uT version, OS, HijackThis log. Thx.
Ultima Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 a) get HijackThis from trendsecure.com, run it, view the log, and post the contents here get Process Explorer from sysinternals.com, run it, Ctrl+D (to show the lower DLL pane), select the µTorrent process from the list, Ctrl+S (and save the list somewhere you'll find easily -- like the Desktop), then post the contents of the saved process list in the .txt file here
thelittlefire Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 No it isn't. If the problem is with a CURRENT version of uTorrent it cannot be fixed by avoiding the issue.I hope you're aware using an old version exposes you to remote crash exploits and disqualifies you from further support here :/In an attempt to keep the troll under control.. if there certainly WAS NONE of the software suggested you best be behind a good hardware firewall. Otherwise where's the information to help figure out what's up?? You're not the first to report problems, nor the first to avoid troubleshooting it. There is no known problem with uTorrent freezing. So it's up to either an isolated but concurrent cause or something injected into uT and dying (usually NIC driver). You aren't on x64 are you?
