alexz
I have done exactly what you wanted. I have a C:\Torrent on my computer, but today, some torrents are now not completed. I have checked the files and they are as big as they should be on my harddrive. I have also used "Force Re-Check".So, It is a dead end for me. (I have looked in the FAQ and made a fast search in the forum).Thank you
Firon
The data may've gotten corrupted, it happens.
zebulon
I got a partially downloaded file (above 40%) from a public tracker. Wasn't fast enough for me, so I switched to a private tracker to finish it. After the re-check, µTorrent told me I only had 4.2%!! What the *biiiip* :/ Just after I switched to v 1.4... Only a coincidence? Mmmmh.
ben
if the files happen to be audio, maybe a program on your computer edited its ID3 tags?
Firon
And releases are often different across trackers.
zebulon
It was a video, and it was the exact same release First time this happened to me btw. Not a big deal, but annoying. We'll see if other users report similar problems!
ben
the same thing could happen to video.. but i dont think it would be nearly as common. i use ephpod to put mp3s on my ipod, instead of itunes (its like using utorrent over azureus) and sometimes it likes to change the info in my mp3s.. which backfires in utorrent. Firon
It has to have the same exact infohash to be the same exact release. If the piece size alone different, that would cause a huge difference in completed amount for a partial torrent.
alexz
Yes! I found out that something changes in the mp3files, then you are kind of in trouble. And it doesn't really matter if you change back.
ben
a way to fix this is to download all your stuff to a certain location.. then copy them to your normal music folder and add the copied files to your media player (or to your ipod) and simply delete the original when you are done seeding. alexz
Yes, unfortunately I have to spend some money on a new harddrive. I have not so much space left.
