Mouz
My portforwarding worked fine before. But one day I noticed that there's no green icon anymore. I followed the instuctions at portforward.com correctly but it won't work. I tried checking and unchecking "use UPnP-portmapping" but it didn't change anything. My router is Telewell EA-510v2r. The IP I used in port forwarding was 192.168.0.100 which should be the right one. The only firewall I'm using is Windows' firewall.
moogly
The IP in port forwarding rule is the local IP of your computer (see your router or your task bar in Windows)Create a rule with TCP (& UDP in option).
80zforever
Hi Mouz, Here's an explanation why this happens while you used to get a green light. What happens is probably you're using random port forwarding on utorrent. So each time you re-start utorrent, connection is through a new port. At first it's fine wbut then in the long run it leaves too many ports open on your router and the router will limit the connectivity (security feature??). Now all you need to do is to re-set and re-install your router and this will fix the problem. Follow the instructions that came with your router to re-set it. Once you have done so, you can uncheck the random port forwarding on utorrnet so that your connection is always through that specified port. Good luck and let us know if this helped you. Mouz
UPnP unchecked.Random port unchecked.Router resetted. No effect. I have never even had "random port" checked. Between "portforwarding working" and "portforwarding not working" I formatted my computer so that might be the reason but I'm not sure. I also had different version of µtorrent back then. I don't have any router drivers installed because I'm using a cable and that doesn't need any. Wireless network is very unreliable on this computer for some unknown reason. I haven't manually set up a static IP address but it has always been the same so I guess it is static. "Create a rule with TCP"?
Firon
if you didn't explicitly setup a static IP, then it's assigned by DHCP.You need to setup a static IP and it must be outside of the range of IPs used for DHCP.
Mouz
I set up static IP address which is outside of DHCP range but no effect. I also tried turning DHCP off but no effect.
