Alloe Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 I have no idea what is wrong with my Utorrent, I have downloaded many movies off of it when I first moved into my apartment (which supplies my internet) and now all of a sudden my downloads wont even start, and I get a yellow triangle in the bottom of the screen that says "no incoming connections". Im not sure if I got that before, but it doesnt matter because the downloads actually worked, even if they were slow. The only other program I downloaded was a program called Network Magic, a program that came with wireless router, and I blocked the program and disconnected my router and they still dont download. I dont know what is going on and I feel like ive tried everything, I even completely turned off my firewall to see if it would work and it still doesnt. If anyone could provide any help then that would be great. Thanks Alot.
thelittlefire Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Hmmm what changed when this happened? Software updates?Do you still get normal HTTP access? You've tried the test torrents like http://slackware.com/torrents/ ?What do you mean "won't start"? If http://utorrent.com/faq.php#What_do_the_red_icons_mean_on_the_torrent_status_icons.3F applies, Trackers tab, read Status column.
Alloe Posted October 16, 2008 Author Report Posted October 16, 2008 The torrents I try to download have a blue arrow next to them meaning that they are downloading, but they simply just remain inactive. And in the trackers tab, the status of everything is "working" but they ARENT working because it remains inactive 24/7 lol. And I tried the test torrents, and the same thing happens, they dont do anything.....
TG Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 How are you connecting to the internet? If you are using a ethernet connection that is in your room (ethernet plug in your room) it seems that you will not have access to the router so you cant forward you port hence the slow downloads. If you are using a modem/router that is hooked up to a adsl or cable connection you can fix it.Find your modem/router instructions it should give you a address to type into a internet browser to access the router controls, such as 192.168.1.1type in the appropriate username and password you should be greeted by the router config screen. Look for sections such as virtual server or port forwarding and locate on utorrent what port the program is listening to.Paste that in your port you want to forward and your ip address of computer (local) such as 192.168.1.1 that you want the port to be forwarded to the appropriate computer. If that doesn't help look in you router manual and it should tell you about port forwarding.
