jmc81 Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 i have used utorrent for a couple of years now almost everyday and i have never had this problem i can't get any incoming connections i check and double check my firewall and router and its all good nothing has been changed so i can't firgure out why i can't get any incoming connections i even tried forwarding it manualy and it still wont work can someone please help
Switeck Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Did you try deleting every mention of uTorrent in your firewall program and letting the firewall redetect uTorrent v1.8.1?Software firewalls often silently or partially block files that have changed size and date, such as when uTorrent does an update.
jmc81 Posted October 17, 2008 Author Report Posted October 17, 2008 i did what you said to do and it still not working i even turn off my firewalls and it still didn't work do you have any other sugestion
Switeck Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 What firewall/s are you using?...Using more than 1 at once can cause problems.
jmc81 Posted October 17, 2008 Author Report Posted October 17, 2008 my windows firewall is turn off and im using norton internet security firewall
moogly Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Ok check NIS lets a total access to uT (in & out).Did you well forward the port in your router ?
shriekingvioletta Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 i'm having the same problem as well... port does not appear to be open and i'm not receiving any incoming connections... my firewall is completely off, utorrent is allowed access, and still nothing. occasionally, i can receive incoming connections, but only for a few minutes...there were a few vista updates recently... could that be what's going on? i noticed this after they were installed...
moogly Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Yep me too I saw this problem after Vista updates. The green icon became orange triangle with no incoming connections. But the pbm has been auto-solved after 1 hour... Maybe you can add "incoming connections" in logger to see the evolution.Maybe try to change yr forwarded port.
shriekingvioletta Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 i'm pretty illiterate when it comes to this stuff - what do you mean by "add "incoming connections" in logger to see the evolution."?i have tried to change my port a few times, and sometimes, it helps - but only for a few minutes. then it goes orange again and my speeds slow. i used to ul at about 150-200kbps - now, out of 1500 peers, i can only connect to about 3... i'm not sure what's going on. i worked on this issue last night for ages and came up with nothing...
jmc81 Posted October 17, 2008 Author Report Posted October 17, 2008 ok i check my firewall and it does let in and out connections for utorrent even when i shut down my firewalls it wont work i must say this problem started when i updated to the new version of utorrent i have tried changing my port but just like the other person who has commented on here it will turn green for about a minute or two then it goes back to noincoming connections
shriekingvioletta Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 yup - exactly the same problem. did you install the vista updates as well?
jmc81 Posted October 17, 2008 Author Report Posted October 17, 2008 no i just updated to the new utorrent
moogly Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 In logger, right click > Peer traffic logging > Log incoming connections.
jmc81 Posted October 17, 2008 Author Report Posted October 17, 2008 ok i did like you said to do it says im getting some incoming connections but im still getting a yellow triangle and it runs real slow
moogly Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Maybe a solution is to watch the details of each recent Windows (Vista) update on MS website (I mean important update for Vista security). The last MS update wave was this week for me.
jmc81 Posted October 17, 2008 Author Report Posted October 17, 2008 im not using vista im using windows xp
Firon Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Uninstall Norton. Use the Norton Removal Tool.

Firon Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Just use the Windows firewall. If you need an antivirus to replace Norton, get AVG.shriekingvioletta, go make your own thread.
