My computer freezing

Sorry for asking the same questions but I don't actually know a lot in operating.

I've had a problem when I started uTorrent about 1hr, my computer freeze!

I use XP server pack 3 with McAfee.

I dont think it's a pbm with your FW, I have the same one and uT works fine with McAfee.

So what can I do to fix the problem? My computer freezes everyday(but I still try to use uTorrent) I'm afraid my HDD will be damaged one day.

The freeze can appears when a process try to indexes your torrents you are dwling (e.g. movies to create a thumb). It can be a soft to burn DVD, a file manager, a player etc...

Does it ever unfreeze? Or is it a hard lock that requires powering off the machine?

When it freezed, nothing I can do even ctrl+ALT+DEL, it seemed non response. I have to force power off the notebook.

First, try uninstalling McAfee completely.

Second, try updating ALL your system drivers. Update the BIOS too.
