I can click cancel and it will eventually load. I noticed this behavior on older versions as well, but I am using build 12495.It's been doing this for a while, sorry for reporting so late.Thanks. Usually you need to start it or run-as Administrator the first time to make the required files.Why aren't you using the stable 1.8.1? Timestamps of files in there look good, including on settings.dat.That's weird though...I've always used the auto update! Can't believe I missed so many builds. But when I do get an auto-update UAC asks me to elevate to updater all by itself, so I'm not sure about that admin issue.I would like to take your advice and uninstall and then reinstall as admin, but will I lose my settings?Thank you~Edit: actually I only cared about my stats...but oh well...I'm going to uninstall and try your advice.Edit 2: Okay, I found the problem: I use E:\Program Files (x86)\ as my directory for applications...and so did uTorrent's settings/uninstaller. I uninstalled it just fine. But I noticed that there was still C:\Program Files (x86)\uTorrent with an old build. I think perhaps during an auto-update or something I installed it to C:\ by accident...confusing uTorrent and my settings. I had to manually delete the folder/file in C:\. Reinstalled and all works well again.I can't remember if the auto-update is fully automated or not, but somehow I wound up installed uTorrent into two different directories.Can someone answer a curiosity though? Vista was installed just a few days ago. Didn't have a chance to run a Hijack This yet. The network is fine as prior to installing Vista 64 I had XP without any problems running uTorrent. And it can run on a different computer (using XP for now). thelittlefire Posted October 22, 2008 Report Share Posted October 22, 2008 Well.. Logitech injection, and wpclsp.dll I view this with suspicion ESPECIALLY since it says it's from MS. It wouldn't usually have a v 1.0.0.1 in that case. However castlecops says it's part of Vista Parental Control, so..As with ruisu, have you tried running uTorrent as Administrator first to get the settings.dat files written?@ruisu, well there's no way to tell for sure right now, because you removed the extra EXE, but for future reference, you can always double click, or right click properties on ANY running process in Process Explorer to see the launch path and command line.
