Just not downloading neither port fowarding works

my internet was down for a while, now its back up and utorrent wouldnt work. I have XP SP3 with zone alarm free version. I also tried it with the windows firewall, still no luck. I am getting the yellow ! on utorrent....did the portforwarding but it still didnt work. At first i was getting waiting to log in but now i am getting '57 nodes'.

If you've never had to forward your ports, and didn't have any issues, you must've gotten lucky. ZA is a pretty crappy firewall -- especially its free edition. Try Comodo firewall, another free firewall. There's a configuration guide for it found here.

Try the suggestions here as well (read carefully). If nothing helps, provide the requested information.

Definitely uninstall ZA completely. Switch to Comodo, as it's free and a much more stable firewall.

Okay...well i disabled the firewall and i am back on windows firewall. i am connected directly to my modem. Went through the link you gave and a number of threads before i posted. but still no luck....

You can't disable ZA. You have to uninstall it.

You also need to add µTorrent to the IMON exceptions in NOD32, or disable IMON altogether.

Okay this is getting really strange.....i uninstalled ZA, delete utorrent from windows firewall.....launched utorrent...tried port fowarding again

but still no luck

EDIT: just called my ISP and they disabled my firewall on their end..utorrent icon still yellow (no incoming connections)

Okay.....i got through...called back the ISP and we went through some settings on their end. Works perfectly even without port forwarding (as it was in the begining). Thanks everyone for your help. I have truly learned alot since then to now.

Why'd you tell uTorrent to upload at 47 KB/sec if your connection can only do ~16 KB/sec absolute max?

Actually i have a 10mbit connection so it can support more, i was playing with the settings during that time...(in one of your document you said putting higher speeds isnt better)

Your local computer to modem connection might be 10 megabits/second (down?), but are you certain your modem's upload is that fast?

Speed tests you ran previously in this post show very low speeds!

Hi I beleive i have the same problem like trini tech, i'm receiving an error which says Port 47005 does not appear to be open. I've tried the port forwarding automatic solution however I'm receiving the same problem.

Oh I am using Windows Vista and my internet connection is broadband. I'm really not into the technical stuff but if u require any additional information from me i will try my best to assist u.
