terry_hollands Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Hi, I was wondering if its possible to implement a logging function in the logger tab purely for logins and logouts maybe something like client A logged in from IP ADDRESS at HH:MM:SS on DATE. The reason for this is that I have alot of PC's within the LAN as to which i access webui from all the different pc's and also on mobile I access webui aswell so would be good to keep a log of things like logins and IP addresses, Thanks!
thelittlefire Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 WebUI requests show up when you enable that part of the verbose logging. ALSO I believe by default the log_date option is ON. Press F1 to learn about the Ctrl-P > Advanced options in more depth.
GTHK Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 I wonder if this is the same person that asked about it on IRC, this was posted right after it was discussed. The verbose logging is too verbose for that individuals liking.Other then watching for suspicious activity and maybe adding failed login attempts for that reason, it doesn't seem particularly useful :/
thelittlefire Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 I think Lord Alderaan's WebUI Shell may include this sort of tracking already. http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=46830 It however requires another server and assumes the users don't have the knowledge to mess with the shell.
Ultima Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 assumes the users don't have the knowledge to mess with the shell.Hm? I thought part of the point behind the shell was to filter out unauthorized requests so that users who do know how the backend work won't be able to get around restrictions? Would be kind of silly if the shell also fell for the same problems D:
