Does the same thing happen for http://slackware.com/torrents/ ? Indeed follow http://utorrent.com/setup_guide.php to try and forward your ports unless you're behind a public NAT common on campus,university,municipal wifi... or are using a cellular wireless or other satellite connection for internet.
