Help With Setting My Preferences

Hi

Can anybody help me please in giving me any advice on what I should set all the settings at under the heading of my preferences so that I can get the most out of using utorrent.

I've read all the other posts and the faq's but I find it all very confusing.

So if somebody could tell me what I should tick and what not to tick etc. I would really really appreciate it.

... Read the manual. Press F1 in the GUI. If you've followed http://utorrent.com/setup_guide.php you could try http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=34259 to change connection settings. There's not much in Ctrl-P > Advanced you should change without knowing what you're doing.

Have you already researched your ISP on this forum/elsewhere.

Let's put it this way I've read them but to be honest I haven't got a clue when rss, ports, isps, dht etc. etc are mentioned - it's all double dutch to me.

Now another silly question - what or where is the GUI?

GUI stands for "graphical user interface." In this context, it would be µTorrent's main window. Press F1 while µTorrent is focused.

As long as you've followed the setup guide, there isn't much you'll need to tweak. As such, no one can tell you exactly how to set everyhing up, as no one understands your needs better than you do. The best you can do is look through the manual for an explanation of all of the options. If there's anything in it that you find unclear, feel free to ask.
